Best of Bethesda 2019 -- The Best of Pike & Rose


There are so many Pike District restaurants, stores, and other establishments in Bethesda Magazine's 2019 Best of Bethesda that we're going to do a series of posts highlighting all the winners.

Today in part three of the Pike District's Best of Bethesda 2019, we feature a special category: 2019 Best of Bethesda Best of Pike & Rose. (A two-page spread in the January-February issue, pages 112-113.) Congratulations to all the winners!

Longest LineThe Baked Bear for custom ice cream sandwiches made with cookies, brownies, and doughnuts.

Most Anticipated New Restaurant: Julii is the latest venture of the three CAVA founders and includes popular dishes from France and Mediterranean region.

Smash Hit:  The 37,000-square-foot Pinstripes boasts a full-service restaurant, ten indoor and outdoor bocce courts, a ballroom, and fourteen bowling lanes.

Best Marketing Ploy: The Beach created a whole lot of buzz with 252 tons of sand, picnic tables, and umbrellas. About 10,000 people visited The Beach last summer.

Hippest Space: Canopy by Hilton is equal parts industrial and eclectic. Exposed ductwork and accordion lights are balanced by pops of electric blue and floral patterned furniture. The hotel bar and cafe serve local food and drinks.
