The Heritage Days weekend celebration brings to life the remarkable history of Reverend Josiah Henson, whose 1849 autobiography inspired Harriet Beecher Stowe’s landmark novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
Located on the historic plantation site where Henson was enslaved for more than thirty years before escaping to freedom in Canada, this site uses Heritage Days to offer deep, immersive educational experiences for all ages.
