The Barcelona quartet Las Migas was founded in 2004 by classically trained musicians from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, united by a shared passion for Spanish music. Six albums and four Latin Grammy nominations later—including two Best Flamenco Album wins for Libres (2022) and Flamencas (2025)—the group continues to push the boundaries of flamenco, blending traditional Spanish folk–inspired guitar with pop and hip-hop influences.
Founding member Marta Robles is joined by Paula Rodríguez, Laura Pacios, and Alicia Grillo, whose roots span Seville, Cataluña, La Mancha, and Galicia. Their sound draws on these regional traditions alongside Cuban rumba, while their songwriting centers a woman’s perspective. The group’s songs of liberation have earned them an international audience and strong connections within Spanish and Latin American LGBTQ+ communities.
