With honeyed vocals, wry humor, and a vibrant personality, Nellie McKay is a modern cabaret star who effortlessly charms. McKay’s magic touch transforms jazz standards into bohemian gems. Her playful delivery belies a razor-sharp wit, allowing her to fight the power with a jaunty ukulele tune or sultry piano number. Since her 2004 debut Get Away From Me, McKay has released 6 other acclaimed albums, won a Theatre World Award for her Broadway portrayal of Polly Peachum in The Threepenny Opera, co-created and starred in the award-winning off-Broadway hit Old Hats, and conceived and performed musical biographies of Barbara Graham, Rachel Carson, Joan Rivers, and Billy Tipton.
