It was 2013 when K-Wave founder, Austin, discovered the iconic “I Got a Boy” music video. Girls' Generation hypnotized him with their powerful voices, stunning visuals, and the blended genre of the melody. Like most international fans, Austin collected albums, attended KCON, and purchase merchandise online from large retailers. When working your typical 9-5, he dreamed of opening his own K-Pop store to make K-Pop more accessible.

Flash forward a decade when Austin decided he needed a change. He quit his job and moved to the DMV. In December 2024, Austin’s dream became a reality. He opened K-Wave to share the joy of K-Pop and celebrate the culture. Austin hopes to foster a culture of inclusivity and bring K-Pop events to the DMV. Pop in and join us in Riding the K-Wave!
