Is brunch your favorite meal?
Is it your go-to choice for a social gathering of any occasion?
Can brunch be considered a personality trait??
If you answered yes to all of these questions (we sure did), the Pike District is the place for you. And even if you didn’t, who can resist a Blood Orange Mimosa?
1. Leek & Gruyère Quiche – This brunch-y goodness is made with a flaky, house-made pie crust and filled with savory egg custard with leeks, spinach, cheese, and rosemary. Need we say more? Get yours from Java Nation during brunch hours every day from 7am to 3pm or all-day Sunday.
2. Lox Avocado Toast – The only thing better than avocado toast, you ask? Avocado toast with lox, obviously. And Nada has delivered. Their Lox Avocado Toast has chimichurri, chive cream cheese, red onion, everything seasoning, and cucumber. Nada is open for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays until 4pm.
3. Blood Orange Mimosa – Don’t worry, Boozy Brunch-ers, we didn’t forget the mimosas. One of our favorites is the Blood Orange Mimosa from Owen’s Ordinary. Did we mention the mimosa is just as beautiful as it is tasty? You can indulge in brunch at Owen’s Ordinary on Saturdays and Sundays.
4. Short Rib Hash – City Perch Kitchen & Bar’s Short Rib Hash is the perfect mix of eggs cooked to order, braised short rib, home-fried potatoes, bell peppers, and onion. We can’t get enough of this flavorful comfort food, and we know you won’t be able to, either.
5. Lobster and Egg Bruschetta – Lobster and Egg Bruschetta is the best bruschetta! Don’t just run, scramble on over to Pinstripes to get grilled baguette topped with Maine lobster, shrimp, soft scrambled eggs, and truffle. Visit Pinstripes on Saturdays from 10am to 3pm to order a la carte, or go on Sundays from 10am to 3pm for the brunch buffet.
6. Chicken and Waffles - Can’t decide between a sweet or salty dish? Chicken and Waffles is a classic that’ll never disappoint. Especially at Quincy's South. Their hand-battered fried chicken breast on a Belgian Waffle is sure to live up to your Chicken and Waffles dreams. Quincy’s South serves brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 3pm.
7. Mezze Breakfast – If you’ve never had the Mezze Breakfast from Julii, you’re in for a treat. The dish is packed with yumminess including Ivy City Smoked Salmon Candy, labneh, stuffed grape leaves, heirloom tomato, pickles, a 6-minute egg, and koulouri bread.
8. Breakfast Sandwich – If you’re anything like us, you’re probably constantly craving a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. And you’re probably always on the lookout for the perfect one. Well, bacon, egg, and cheese-lovers, look no further. We found the best breakfast sandwich. (Seriously. Sunday Morning Bakehouse’s
Breakfast Sandwich is voted best in Maryland on Yelp.) Do yourself a favor and get one. Go. Go now.
9. Golden Waffle Works – Okay, yes, it’s all breakfast and no brunch at The Original Pancake House. But objectively, you can’t go wrong with a classic breakfast, and The Original Pancake House is here to take the breakfast cake. Their Golden Waffle Works is complete with one half of their golden waffle, eggs, bacon, and hash browns. Yum! Breakfast is available every morning through early-afternoon.
10. Ahi Tuna and Watermelon Tartare – Sweet watermelon and fresh ahi tuna on a bed of guacamole? With Thai chili and house-made chips? Ahh! Summer House knows what’s up. Visit them on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 3pm for the perfect summer brunch dish.
