Refresh in the New Year at Journey Within Wellness Center

Located in the heart of the Pike District at 11755 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda, MD 20852, Journey Within Wellness Center is a sanctuary for anyone seeking balance, healing, or a much-needed pause from daily demands. Founded by Carlos Adao, the center blends science-based therapies with holistic practices to help residents reconnect with their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Carlos’s journey began far from North Bethesda. Born in Brazil, he moved to Maryland at three and has called it home ever since. His lifelong interest in health and human potential led him through roles in emergency medicine and research at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Those experiences showed him how deeply stress and lifestyle affect the body, inspiring him to create a place where healing goes beyond medicine.

At Journey Within, visitors will find a wide range of therapeutic services including float therapy, massage therapy, performance-stretch therapy, sauna sessions, IV therapy, acupuncture & cupping. These offerings have attracted not only local residents but top professional athletes. Carlos and his team have supported players from DC United, NFL teams, the Baltimore Orioles’ Cedric Mullins, and world-renowned boxing champions like Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Franchón Crews-Dezurn, who turn to the center for recovery, relaxation, and performance optimization.

Yet the mission extends far beyond elite sports.
